Lovere, one of Italy's most beautiful villages, discover it with us!

Nestled between the lake and the mountains, built on land that resembles an amphitheatre, Lovere will take you on a timeless journey. Follow us to discover some of its beauty!

From our hotel, walk to the right and leave our pier on your left to begin your stroll along the lakefront, which immediately welcomes you and takes you by the hand, offering splendid views from sunrise to sunset. A pleasant 10-minute walk will take you to the town centre.

Walking under the arcades, you will come out in Piazza XIII Martiri, one of the most beautiful squares among the Lombardy lakes, surrounded by splendid buildings from different eras. From there, leave the lakefront and venture inland to discover the hidden secrets of our ancient village.

Take the steps of Via Cavallotti and Via del Ratto, next to the old Wender pastry shop (where you can stop for some excellent traditional desserts), and from there you will have access to the heart of Lovere.

On the left, climbing the picturesque lane and passing the imposing Torre Soca, you will reach Piazza Emanuele II: a small gem that in medieval times was the centre of the town, where all the small streets of the village converge. Here you can climb the Torre Civica, from the top of its 28 metres, and enjoy a splendid view of the village and the lake.

From the square, you can choose to turn your back on the Tower and take the medieval alleys of the ‘Stretta’ and S.Giovanni al Rio, which descend towards the lakefront, to reach the Tadini Academy of Fine Arts (with permanent exhibitions by artists such as Canova and Hayez), or continue to the left, climbing towards the Sanctuary of Sante Capitanio and Gerosa, which towers above the town.

Alternatively, from the square, you can continue to the right through the Portichetto di San Giorgio and from there climb up to the tower inside which the church of San Giorgio was built, then continue towards the monastery of S. Chiara until you reach the Renaissance part of Lovere, where the majestic Basilica of S. Maria in Valvendra stands, hiding exquisite decorations and a splendid painted organ inside.

Returning to the lakefront, you can decide to continue south until you reach the marina, where you cannot miss the view of the lake and the mountains of Val Camonica from the panoramic terrace, or retrace the entire lakefront, passing the hotel and continuing to Costa Volpino, where you will find the enchanting Baia delle Rose.
